What might a treatment session look like from me?
Your first treatment session will be an initial evaluation and treatment. We will go over your medical history, past injuries, and anything that may be important to know about you to be able to give you the best treatment. I am a hands-on approach therapist who will assess you very thoroughly looking for muscular tension and dysfunction, weakness, acupressure points, and anything else that may be causing you problems. If you are in pain, your first sessions will most likely be completely hands on approach. I do a very gentle approach which surprises most people as it’s very effective. I also do deep tissue mobilization, positional release, myofascial release, acupressure, joint mobilizations, and mckenzie techniques. As soon as your body is ready, I will follow up with exercises so you can prevent future excaberations and not have to see me forever!
How many treatment sessions will I need?
I am very effective and efficient in comparison to your normal physical therapy clinic and physical therapist. If we are not seeing results right away, we will change what we are doing in order that we see results. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may need to be seen as little as 2-3 times or several times. Also, it completely depends on your goals, are you wanting to get back into the recreational activity that you love, or are you sick of dealing with chronic pain? Or, is it something less severe in nature such as you would like to begin a preventative fitness, nutrition, and training program to lose weight and become fit and lead a more healthier lifestyle? As you can see, all of these things depend on how much YOU want help with! Seeing good results is my passion and I will not give up on you!
What should I wear?
Loose and comfortable clothing! Please no skirts as you will be laying down on my massage table!
How long is a session?
Standard sessions are 60 minutes long. Also, depending on the situation, I offer shorter (30 or 45 minute) or longer (90 minute) sessions. Session length is determined by a number of considerations, including age of the client (children generally don’t need, nor tolerate, a full 60 minute session), as well as financial considerations. For the initial session, I like to schedule 90 minutes, although this is not always necessary.
How much does it cost?
A standard one-hour session is $80. Shorter sessions will be pro-rated. For example, a 30 min session (which is often appropriate for a child) would be $40. A 45 minute session is $60, and extended (90 min) sessions are $120. The initial 90 min session is $100. I do provide military discounts.
